Khapmaw and Mawjam are remote villages in Pynursla Border Block. These nearby villages are inaccessible by road. This project is intended to provide accessibility to both of them. The initial part from the PWD road was constructed under the MGNREGS project. To further the connectivity towards the villages, this road was constructed and further extended from the MGNREGS project. So here is an example of convergence of projects from 2 different departments towards providing road accessibility to villages. The construction of the road was a tough job because of the treacherous terrain of big boulders and loose soil. However the task was done eventually. To connect both the villages by road, there is still a distance of about 1.5 kms of difficult terrain. “The people have appreciated the efforts of the government to provide connectivity and to a certain extent, it has helped them. But, the full impact and benefit of the road will only be felt once accessibility is there upto both the villages,” asserted both the Sordar of Khapmaw & Mawjam villages.
