Dalamgre falls at a distance of 3.27 Km. near the international border of Bangladesh. It is connected by a State Highway 6 and is surrounded by a pheriphery of smaller hamlets some of which remained inaccessible due to lack of roads. The village is semi-hilly in topography and is reachable by a narrow pathway through the plantations. The kutcha road developed by MGNREGA in the previous years connecting the village was washed during monsoons rendering the village unreachable by vehicles. So in order to ensure the all weather road connecting Dalamgre to Bengsa, a proposal was made under BADP Additional fund 2019-20. After sanction accorded by the MHA, the project took off in right earnest by taking into consideration the concerns of the village headman and other stakeholders.
Since the alignment of the road passes through the hillock, a great amount of excavation work had to be carried out in the hills before reaching the slopes leading to Bengsa village. The project involved RCC culvert and a retaining wall to safeguard the nearby hills from further erosion and damaging the road. The difficult terrain posed some hardships during the implementation phase and earthmovers were pressed into service to ensure timely completion of the project. After completion, the kuthcha road connects the Bengsa village with the State highway passing through Dalamgre.
